Our Story

You Never Forget

Your First Love

Our Founder, Daniel Ehrlich, was born on a small farm in the hills of Southern Illinois. A toy car must have been the first thing he ever picked up. He was not obsessed - he was in love. His first experiences driving were at the age of 5 on the family’s farm. When his parents were away Daniel talked his Grandmother into allowing him to do a test in her car. He flew down the crescent shaped gravel driveway, stopped at the end and did a perfect 3-point turn, and then looked over at his Grandmother to see how he’d done. Her response “Well I don’t think you need me in here!” said everything. Daniel was a natural.

The world opened up to Daniel after he’d gotten his driver’s license. He would spend hours and hours driving through the foothills of North Carolina and the Blue Ridge Mountains. In 2002 he bought his first car with a gps. He would program driving routes sometimes taking as long as 6 hours to complete.

Daniel first showed signs of real talent as a racing driver at his first Skip Barber 3-day racing school followed by an open lapping day. He impressed the instructors so much they wrote letters of recommendation for him and he was able to acquire his FIA Grade B International competition license after only those 4 days. Soon afterwards he had an offer to drive for the Racer’s Group the year before the famous Daytona 24hrs that they won outright in a GT car. He missed the race due to a lack of funding, but he eventually found a way to compete by attending the now defunct Bridgestone Racing Academy’s Mechanics Training program. Daniel easily outpaced the rest of the mechanics as well as the 3 three karting champions competing there that year in their “Pro series”. 2005 would be the end of his competitive career to date however as funding was never secured to go farther and Daniel shifted gears to focus on business.

Daniel is now one of the leading driver coaches at The Motor Enclave in Tampa, FL and a Skip Barber Racing School coach, having only gotten faster and wiser with age.

The racing world’s loss is your gain. There are few things in life that Daniel enjoys more than the joy of a good drive. For years he has purposely taken the long-way, hunting down back roads, little known towns and hideaways. Now he is offering his passion and knowledge to you, to share the joys and open up new perspectives and new experiences you might have never discovered and opening up the world of competitive motorsports to those with the real drive for life.
